I met Milena for lunch at Salonika Restaurant, which was a short walk from my apartment.

Over lunch we talked a bit about different cultures, and since we were in a Greek restaurant, Greece. I told her a bit about my experiences with the group of Greek immigrants I had worked with on construction sites in Chicago, and how they maintained some of their traditions throughout generations. From there it wasn’t too much of a leap to talk about the book, Zorba the Greek, and how to live a little more like the main character.
The movie wasn’t quite as good as the book, but there is a YouTube clip to show.
Tomorrow morning I’m flying to Cartagena for a week in the sun. I’ll miss Bogotá, which wasn’t something I thought I’d say when I first arrived.
